📑When the login portal closes on your soul
Yesterday I decided: I will handle my official stuff online. Because it’s 2025. It must be simple by now.
I visit the government website. First page: “Login with digital ID or e-ID.” Second page: “An error occurred. Please try again later.” Later = never.
I try again. This time it lets me in! But the system behaves like a cranky toaster from the ‘80s — noisy, slow, and nobody knows how it works.
Downloading a PDF? Possible — if you find it. The “Download” button is hidden deep in a dropdown inside a submenu, behind three CAPTCHAs. Prompt: “Select all squares with a fire hydrant.” Me: “Is this a hydrant or a little red robot?”
What you need to complete a single task:
- time
- coffee
- patience
and a confirmation letter sent by post. (Seriously?)
Eventually, it works. Confirmation email: “Request denied. You clicked too fast.” Me: Going for a walk. 😇
